Amador-Tuolumne Action Agency (A-TCAA) is a community and human services public entity established in 1981.

Its mission is to help individuals in Amador and Tuolumne Counties toward self-sufficiency; support local residents in becoming involved and contributing members of our communities; promote family and other supportive environments so that children, youth and elders can achieve their maximum potential; and finally; to form partnerships and coalitions within the community to meet these needs.

As a part of this broad mission, A-TCAA has a 25-year record of successfully developing and sustaining a broad range of exemplary community service programs to meet changing community needs in a widely dispersed rural region.

The agency today administers $6 million in grants annually, and has a staff of more than 125 employees who operate and manage nearly 30 projects in five divisions.

Its services include a five-county food bank, the region’s only emergency and transitional shelters for the homeless, Head Start preschools, three family learning centers, youth mentoring programs, drug and alcohol prevention programs, home weatherization and utility bill assistance, tax assistance, Lifeline emergency assistance and an award-winning three-county web-based community information and referral system called InfoNet.
